General Trading Tips and How to Make Gold

One of the best ways to earn gold quickly is to get familiar with the trading system. There are different approaches, or levels, of trading you can operate at. The simplest level is just selling items you've farmed. For that, it's mainly useful to know the current market prices (which is where this website can help), and beyond that there isn't much more guidance needed. The Arcane Legends forum itself is also pretty good for researching prices and for selling.

Now let's get to the more interesting stuff. The next step would be merching. For merching, knowing the prices is obviously a requirement, otherwise you buy too expensive or sell too cheap again. Here too, arcaneprices.com can help. It's also worth actively merching around new events, since prices haven't settled yet and there are usually more players active. On top of that, leaderboard players occasionally sell items cheaply to get gold quickly, which creates good chances to pick up items below their usual price.

Then there's hoarding. That means buying items and holding onto them until they rise in price. To know which items could potentially develop well, there are several aspects that help you recognize this.

One of the most important numbers for hoarding, and generally in Arcane Legends, is in my opinion the Plat to Gold Price, since this value lets you calculate the "fair" value of an item. There is a requirement though: you need to be able to roughly estimate how much platinum an item costs. For some items this is easy. A simple example is an Elite Awakening Gem. It's always available in the store for 5 platinum. Assuming you get 160,000 gold per platinum, the fair price for an Elite Awakening Gem Kit would be 800,000 gold. The same principle can be applied to all items in the shop, or to any item where you know the platinum price, for example auras. It's different with items from lockeds. There are still various ways, through experience, to estimate fairly well how much gold something is worth. This is also useful for new items or for event elixirs.

But why is this essential for hoarding? Let's stick with the Elite Awakes example and the assumption of 1 platinum equals 160,000 gold. Say we want to invest, and the price for Elite Awakes is currently at 580,000 gold. Now we calculate what others would essentially pay for it if they bought it with platinum, since in theory you get 160,000 per platinum. So for platinum, a price of 800,000 would be fair. The difference between the market price and the amount of gold you'd get through other items by buying with platinum is essentially the market's upside potential, basically our raw profit. 800,000 minus 580,000 would be 220,000 gold of potential per Elite Awakening Gem. The actual profit can of course vary, it's really just about the difference to the "fair" price. This also works the other way around, where the fair price is below the current market price. So you use the Plat to Gold Price as an indication of the direction the market is very likely to move in.

It's also worth knowing which items are popular. But how do I know what counts as a popular item? Pretty simple. Look for items that get consumed. That means crates, or awakening gems, or eggs, or jewels, and more. These items decrease in total supply over time. If these items are also useful and still in demand, then demand stays steady while the supply keeps shrinking, which will push the price up.

For gear you need a lot more expertise to know which items are worth it, which is why I'd advise against investing in gear items long term. Another reason I advise against it is that new and even better gear keeps getting released, and old gear becomes obsolete.

Scenario: No Playtime No Gold (Beginner) and Free to Play

As a completely new player with no experience and without spending any money, there are very few options for getting gold together. In my experience, the first step is getting your character to level 91 so you can join other players who have better gear. If possible, you can join a guild. You can do this even before reaching the max level. I'd say there are two paths, though it's increasingly moving toward just one of them. The first thing you could try is borrowing decent gear from someone in your guild or elsewhere in the game. But if you can't get any gear, this option already fails. On top of that, new gear is increasingly bound now, meaning it's no longer possible to pass your gear on to someone else. This means this path is becoming less and less viable. The other option would be playing events. Through the regular, always accessible content, it's not really possible to earn a meaningful amount of gold as of September 2026. Through events, it is possible. Various mechanics in events depend on luck rather than gold loot. That means you can complete event quests, collect and exchange tokens, or get rare boss drops just by "tagging along". You should use this mechanic to buy a so-called speed set as quickly as possible, and with blue awakens, the gear should be fully awakened to 10% speed or more per piece. This at least lets you keep up with other players. Next, it's important to put together a low budget set with gold loot and play the map Duneveil Floor 1. After that, you can gradually expand your gear and farm gold. What you can do with the gold is described above.

Scenario: No Playtime No Gold (Beginner) and Willing to Buy Platinum

This is a pretty similar scenario, just with the difference of being willing to buy platinum. It makes an enormous difference, especially in terms of saving time. You don't need to borrow gear and can farm gold for yourself right away. You'll still need to reach level 91, or boost yourself with platinum if you don't have any help. Here too, I'd first go for a good speed set. Also, playing an LB without experience can backfire, since people often underestimate how hard it gets toward the end. In the end, this is the best way to get a lot of gold free to play, but without experience I'd still recommend going for gold loot gear and running the map Duneveil 1. If you already have experience though, I'd recommend buying LB capable gear and playing that instead.

Scenario: Much Experience (5+ Years) and Still Free to Play

Do you already have a lot of playing experience, don't want to spend any money, but still want a lot of gold? Then it makes sense to try your hand at leaderboards and work through the methods described above. For leaderboards, a fast speed set is a requirement, along with a strong team that you should ideally already have put together before the event starts, since the map always needs to be cleared quickly, and of course a lot of time and stamina. When hoarding, keep in mind that even though you know gold sitting unused is unproductive, it's still worthwhile to always keep some gold on the side. It can easily happen that you're otherwise forced to sell off an investment early, and in the worst case at a loss. I'd recommend checking the roadmap and thinking about which events might require more pures. Either way, it's definitely worth playing an LB once you have experience.

Scenario: Much Experience (5+ Years) and Willing to Buy Platinum

This option is similar to the scenarios already described, just extended by buying platinum. Anyone with a lot of playing experience should already know how to handle their platinum. Still, it's a valuable number to know the Plat to Gold Price here too, since otherwise platinum might get invested into the wrong items when you could have gotten more value out of it elsewhere. But most players should already be familiar with all of this.
